Senor,

You will be missed.  You were an inspirational teacher and a friend who encouraged success in your students in Spanish as well as life.  I will never forget your frequent reminders to not say "at" at the end of a sentence and will remember to complete things so as to not earn "puntos menos."  Vaya con Dios.  Scott "Santiago" Stein, 1989

Oh Señor, where do I begin? You were the most special teacher that I have ever encountered. Your love for teaching was evident. You were truly an inspiration during and after our days at Hershey High School. Some of the lessons you taught us, I have carried with me all these years.

I can't help but smile when thinking about the days in Spanish class. You would always tease me and say "Cuando Antonio no esta, Jacinta jugara!" To this day, I still say "Irrrrrrrrrrresponsibilidad!" (even though no one outside of HHS understands) and sing the "por and para" songs when trying to figure out which one I should use! I still remember the poems that we had to memorize and the fiestas we shared in. Some of my favorite days were when you would get out the journal that you kept every year since you started teaching and you would read us the slang words that the students used in your classes from the previous decades! I could go on and on...

There are so many things I learned about the Spanish language and culture in your class - but the most important thing I learned had nothing to do with tarea or "Bodas de sangre"...It was what you taught me about life, family and love. Thank you for giving us a gift that we will cherish always. You will always have a special place in my heart and I am eternally grateful. I hope you are enjoying life again up there with Rosa su "esposa mas hermosa del mundo!"

-Jessica "Jacinta" Carr(rrro), 2003.
